Landkreis Schwäbisch Hall

Agriculture is now still a far more important economic factor in the Schwäbisch Hall District than Baden-Württemberg on average. During Expo in Hanover, a separate outpost was created for the "Schwäbisch Hall Pig“ at the Wackershofen Open-Air Museum.

Small and medium-sized commercial companies play an important role in the Schwäbisch Hall District. There is also a very balanced mix of industries.

Mechanical engineering is the mainstay of manufacturing industry. The woodworking, plastics, electrical engineering and food industries are also well-represented. The service sector is extremely well-developed in the District. The Schwäbisch Hall Building Society has a nationwide reputation and must be mentioned here in particular on account of its function as the largest employer in the District.
